Sexual ethics is the study of human sexuality and sexual behaviour. In a word, it seeks to understand and evaluate the moral conduct of relationships and sexual activities from a philosophical perspective. Webbtreatments of sexual ethics has been to show how human beings might avoid them both. Finnis' concern with these traditional problems is clear. One of the strengths of his argument, how-ever, is that it calls attention to a third problem relevant to the philosophical treatment of sexual ethics, but largely ignored by it.
